Dear BSM families,
As we move into the final four weeks of term a range of different learning activities and celebration events are taking place. Please be assured that learning will take place right up until the end of term.
For Years 10 and 12 the lessons following the end of year examinations will be critical as they work with their teachers to identify areas they need to work on to improve their performance as they move into the final year of the IGCSE and IB studies. Years 7-9 will have some end of year assessments, with class based learning continuing until the last week of term.
Year 11 will be joining us again as soon as their IGCSE exams finished, joining us for two days of IB induction, where they will be given some reading and small tasks for the long holiday. They then move into a week of work experience with a range of employers in Manila.
Our final school production of the academic year takes place on the 19, 20 and 21 June, deliberately moved to ensure that the final performance of ‘A Midsummer Night’s Dream’ coincides with the summer solstice – an appropriate decision given the piece being performed!
A range of celebration events also take place this term, including: the IB graduation taking place on Saturday 8 June, the PROM for Years 11-13 which takes place on Saturday 15 June, and Speech Day, which is held on Saturday 22 June. During the last week of term, we finish the year with Shine Day on Thursday 27 June, which culminates in a showcase concert in the afternoon, and our final assembly of the school year at 11am on Friday 28 June.
We look forward to the ongoing learning and celebration of student achievements at the various upcoming events.
Next week is Week A.
