The British School Manila receives special recognition for EEC Contribution

The British School Manila (BSM), under the leadership of Head of School Martin van der Linde, and COO Maita Borromeo, continues to demonstrate a strong commitment to energy efficiency and environmental sustainability within the education sector. Through its partnership with the Department of Energy (Philippines), BSM actively supports the National Energy Efficiency and Conservation Program (NEECP) by promoting awareness, training, and capacity-building initiatives for students, educators, and school administrators across the country.

Beyond advocacy, BSM integrates sustainable energy practices into its own campus operations. In 2024, the school inaugurated its solar panel system, a milestone that reflects its commitment to reducing energy consumption and promoting renewable energy solutions within the school community.

By combining advocacy, education, and tangible energy-saving initiatives, BSM demonstrates how schools can lead by example. The school’s efforts foster a culture of sustainability while equipping students with the knowledge and values needed to prioritise energy efficiency in their future communities.
