Learning and Growing Together - BSM Education Outreach Teachers Conference

Last Saturday, 23 November 2024, The British School Manila was roaringly proud to host the inaugural Education Outreach Teachers Conference, a beaconing event in partnership with DepEd SDO (Department of Education Schools Divisions Office) Taguig-Pateros and supported by Collins Publishers. This fantastic gathering marks the beginning of a new, exciting tradition designed to inspire and empower educators through collaboration, innovation, and shared learning. With the theme "Learning and Growing Together," the conference brought together a dynamic group of extremely passionate teachers from BSM and DepEd with a shared commitment to professional growth and enhancing student experiences.

The conference featured a diverse programme of engaging sessions that offered practical tools and insights for educators. Highlights included discussions on innovative teaching strategies, the effective use of technology in the classroom, creating engaging classroom environments, and differentiation to support diverse student needs. The event aimed to foster meaningful exchanges among educators, helping them build valuable skills and relationships to bring back to their classrooms.

Various sessions were prepared for delegates with focus on different strands and targeted audiences.

Mr Richard Healy, BSM’s Deputy Head and Head of Senior School, led a session on unlocking deeper learning with concept-based teaching, also practised in BSM.

There was also a session on nurturing Filipino youths' creative and critical thinking led by BSM’s Primary Learning Assistant, Ms Gemma Mallillin.

Delegates from Taguig and Pateros schools participated in different discussions and sessions.
