Year 13 visit to Antarex HQ

Year 13 visit to Antarex HQ

On 19 November, our Year 13 IB Computer Science students visited Antarex HQ in Manila as part of their work on the IB case study “An Ethical Approach to Hacking.” The trip gave students valuable real-world insight into ethical hacking and modern cybersecurity practice.

Antarex specialists explained how professionals responsibly identify and manage vulnerabilities, and showed how industry standards like the Penetration Testing Execution Standard (PTES) guide each stage of a penetration test. Students saw safe demonstrations using fictional data, helping them understand key phases such as pre-engagement planning, vulnerability analysis, and reporting, while also highlighting the ethical boundaries required in sensitive environments.

We’re grateful to the Antarex team for their time and expertise. The visit strongly reinforced classroom learning and helped students see how computer science connects to real-world responsibility and careers in cybersecurity.

The Technology Team at BSM is here to share info, tips, and tricks on the various platforms that we use in school. We also share information on how to help manage the many platforms your children may use at home, as well as highlight the latest developments in the technological world.
