VEX Robotics Modified Slapshot Challenge sparked our students’ creativity

The Technology Team at BSM is here to share info, tips, and tricks on the various platforms that we use in school. We also share information on how to help manage the many platforms your children may use at home, as well as highlight the latest developments in the technological world.

This term, students took on an exciting engineering journey through the VEX Robotics Modified Slapshot Challenge. Working in teams, they embraced the design process—brainstorming, prototyping, testing, and refining their robots with impressive persistence and ingenuity.

Over the course of the term, the robotics lab buzzed with collaborative energy as students tackled the challenge of building machines capable of completing a dynamic game-based task. Each team brought a unique approach, combining mechanical design and strategic thinking to optimise performance.

The experience culminated in a thrilling end-of-term tournament, where each form was represented by a standout team. The friendly competition highlighted not just technical skill, but also communication, problem-solving, and the power of teamwork. Congratulations to the winning teams from each form—and to all participants—for their hard work and creativity!
