The British School Manila is proud to celebrate the outstanding achievements of student Aarran (Year 12), who represented the Philippines Under-16 National Team during the summer holidays in the Lion City Cup. The team went undefeated throughout the tournament, making history by securing the country’s first international championship. Aarran played a key role in the team’s success, receiving the Player of the Tournament Award and finishing the team's top scorer with 3 goals, netting the equaliser against Hong Kong and scoring two key goals in the final against Cambodia.
We would also like to recognise the accomplishments of former student Zachary Taningco (IB Class of 2023), who represented the Philippines Under-23 National Team in the Madiri Cup. Zachary contributed to another historic moment as the team reached the semi-finals for the first time in the competition’s history.
