Change4Change - Monday-Friday, 02-06 March

Change4Change is an important whole-school initiative that turns small contributions into meaningful support for communities across the Philippines during times of urgent need. Students and families are warmly encouraged to contribute by donating coins in Philippine currency (PHP) only.

How it works

  • Community members bring in PHP coins to school.
  • Coins are sorted by denomination into tubes, with a set of tubes allocated to each House.
  • Donations contribute directly to House standings: every ₱100 raised=1 House point.

Where the funds go

All proceeds from Change4Change support our BSM Disaster Relief Fund—a dedicated fund established to ensure we can respond quickly and effectively when communities face emergencies. In the past, this fund has enabled emergency support following incidents such as fires in Tondo and typhoons in Siargao.

In moments of crisis, timely support matters. Your spare change helps accelerate real assistance for people on the ground, and collectively, even small donations can make a substantial difference.

Thank you in advance for your generosity and for supporting both our House community and those in need.

Thank you for your compassion and support.

Year 4 - Responsible Consumption

Last term, our Year 4 students explored regenerative practices through gardening and systems thinking, developing their understanding of how food systems connect soil, water, culture, and community. Through hands-on learning, they began to see how thoughtful stewardship can restore rather than deplete the natural world.

This term, they have embarked on a new journey focussed on Responsible Consumption (UN SDG 12). Students are investigating how our everyday choices—particularly around clothing and textile waste — impact communities around the world.

Using a case study from Ghana, they will learn about the environmental consequences of fast fashion and the growing challenges created by global clothing waste. Discovering how garments discarded in one part of the world can accumulate in another, affecting local ecosystems, livelihoods, and health.

Alongside this, students will be exploring the concept of waste more broadly. Through the familiar lens of food waste, they begin to understand the power of their own daily decisions. By examining patterns of consumption and reflecting on their own habits, they become aware that small, conscious choices can contribute to meaningful change.

Across Primary School, our aim is not simply to raise awareness, but to empower students to think critically, act responsibly and recognise that their voices and choices matter.
