MAD Week Preparation Day

On Thursday, 20 November, we held our first MAD Week Preparation Day. The aim was to give all Years 7-10 students a clearer understanding of the communities they will be visiting in January, while also beginning the early thinking for their Docathon documentaries.

Throughout the day, students took part in a series of guided activities and discussions led by Senior School teachers and supported by Make A Difference Courses’ online resources. Using systems-thinking tools and the Japanese concept of ikigai, they explored why forming meaningful connections with our partner communities is an important part of the MAD Week experience.

These sessions encouraged students to ask thoughtful questions, consider different perspectives, and reflect on what they hope to contribute during their visits.

Thank you to our students for engaging positively throughout the day, and to our teachers for their guidance and support in helping make this a constructive start to the MAD Week journey.
