Valentine's Day Fundraisers & 2025 Docathon Film Festival
For Valentine's Day, a number of our Service & Sustainability ASAs ran fundraising stalls and events for their service partners. One of the highlights was the One Million Lights Serenaders who took their karaoke kit around campus and sang love songs to unsuspecting members of the senior school. Delicious brownies, DIY bracelets and an opportunity to make polaroids with friends all led to a truly successful, and heartwarming event.
2025 Docathon Film Festival
This Thursday saw the culmination of Make A Difference Week with our 2025 Docathon Film Festival in the Bayanihan Hall. We welcomed our special guest judges: former Marvel Studios executive and now the Head of Originals for Viu Philippines, Corinna Vistan-Takahashi; the producer behind groundbreaking projects such as the award-winning documentary 'Di Ka Pasisiil' and the acclaimed Foreign Film & TV Producer having worked on Anthony Bourdain’s Parts Unknown & BBC’s Blue Planet, Inky Nakpil; author, TEDx speaker and, MAD Travel co-founder Tom Graham, and acclaimed underwater cinematographer whose work has enhanced projects like Beyoncé's 'Lemonade' and 'The Suicide Squad,' Ian S. Takahashi.
The five short-listed films focussed on five of the ten different communities that were visited during MAD Week and members of eight of these communities joined us here on campus also for this special red-carpet event.
It was wonderful to celebrate together and more details on the shortlisted and winning film will come out in future Lion’s Roar so look out for these!
