Keep Collecting Those Coins: Change4Change

A reminder that Change4Change returns to campus in the first week of March. Please continue to collect up your loose change and be ready to drop off your coins. Every Php100.00 raised earns a house point for your house!

Docathon Film Festival

We are excited to announce that our third annual Docathon Film Festival will take place in the Bayanihan Hall on Thursday, 26 February at 01.30pm. This red carpet event celebrates the shortlisted documentaries created by students during Make A Difference Week. Come join us to watch the films, enjoy incredible performances from the Upskills+ Foundation Choir, meet members of some of our MAD Week communities and find out the winner of this year’s film festival!

Valentine’s Fundraiser

This week, we have had great success with the Senior School Fundraiser for Valentine's.

Roots For Change, Project Pearls, One Million Lights, Pawprints & Purpose, Childhaus, and Unified Club all put on stalls selling a range of products from heart-shaped waffles to tempting strawberry treats, as well as temporary tattoos, artworks and the always hilarious surprise serenading!

Senior School Composting ASA

This week, we are excited to highlight one of our flourishing Service & Sustainability Initiatives: The Senior School Composting Club.

The club has been buzzing with energy and purpose lately, as our students come together to take practical action towards sustainability on campus. The club focuses on reducing food waste by collecting organic waste from designated areas of the school and turning it into nutrient-rich compost that can be reused in our gardens. It is a wonderful progression from our Year 4 garden and takes that important sense of connection with nature through into our Senior School.

Through hands-on activities, students learn about the science behind composting, including decomposition, soil health, and the role of microorganisms in creating sustainable systems. Members work collaboratively to sort waste, manage compost bins, and monitor progress, developing responsibility, teamwork, and environmental awareness in the process.

Recent success has been the growth of a number of herb plants, such as Thai Basil, grown from seed in the compost that students have generated through the club.

Beyond the practical skills, the Composting Club encourages students to think critically about consumption and waste, and to consider how small, consistent actions can have a meaningful impact. This term, students have also taken on a leadership role by running composting sessions for the staff marketplace, sharing their knowledge and promoting sustainable practices beyond the classroom. By modelling environmentally responsible habits and engaging the wider school community, the club is helping to build a culture of sustainability across campus.

We look forward to highlighting more of our Service and Sustainability ASA initiatives in future issues of Lion’s Roar.

Thank you for your compassion and support.
