A Joyful and Impressive Outdoor Production of Twelfth Night
Congratulations to the talented cast and crew behind BSM’s recent production of Twelfth Night! Performed under the evening sky in our CAC Amphitheatre, this fast-paced, one-hour adaptation of Shakespeare’s classic comedy was a thoroughly engaging and very funny celebration of student creativity and collaboration.
The outdoor setting not only provided a vibrant atmosphere but also served as a wonderful showcase of our CAC Amphitheatre space. Audiences enjoyed the relaxed environment - many with picnics in tow - making for a memorable night of theatre under the stars.
Backed by a stellar technical team, the production ran smoothly thanks to Colin and Dennis, who expertly oversaw the headset microphones, and Shayaan, whose lighting design and operations enhanced every moment on stage. Behind the scenes, Aranyaa, Kenzie, and Jacqueline ensured props and transitions were seamless, while Leelah, as Stage Manager, demonstrated calm leadership and attention to detail in managing all aspects of the show.
The cast, with an average age of just 13, was a wonderful mix of students experiencing performance for the first time alongside those in the IGCSE Drama elective. The four central lovers - Laia, Alyssa, Micah, and Ben - handled Shakespeare’s language with sensitivity and skill, creating lyrical and magical moments. The comic ensemble - Ruby, Aashna, Anechka, Bella, and Luke - delivered slapstick and physical humour with terrific timing, expression, and energy.
A special spotlight goes to Bella, who stepped into a new role with just 24 hours’ notice. She showed great resilience and commitment, setting a strong example through her reliability, collaboration, and creativity. Her contribution was a real asset to the ensemble and to the success of the show.
Our wider supporting cast - Ira, Natasha, Alena, Dominique, Paige, Akshaj, Marcos, Edward, and Sagar - all brought thoughtful and energetic presence to the stage, contributing to a strong ensemble atmosphere. A special mention also to Caitlyn, whose live piano accompaniment added a beautiful and atmospheric touch throughout the show.
Thank you to all staff who supported this production with their time, encouragement, and behind-the-scenes help. And a heartfelt thank you to our audience for coming out to support the students and share in this wonderful evening of theatre.
This production was a fantastic way to round off another exciting year for BSM Drama. Well done to everyone involved!
