Shakespeare in the Amphitheatre: Twelfth Night, Year 12 Solo Performances, & FOBISIA Senior Drama Festival 2025
Year 12 IBDP Theatre Students Impress with Solo Performances
On Tuesday-Wednesday, 13-14 May, our Year 12 IBDP Theatre students took to the stage in Bayanihan Hall to present their Solo Theatre Performances to an invited audience.
This challenging assessment requires students to devise an original 4–7 minute piece of solo theatre, inspired by their research into a selected theatre theorist. Each performance demonstrated a deep understanding of theory in action, showcasing the students’ creativity and insight as performers, directors, creators, and designers. The Solo Theatre Performance forms a significant part of the IBDP Theatre course, contributing 35% of the final grade for HL students.
Congratulations to Rose, Advika, Liliane, and Adriana for their bold, imaginative, and powerful work on stage.

FOBISIA Senior Drama Festival 2025
The British School Manila (BSM) is proud to host the FOBISIA Senior Drama Festival 2025. From the evening of Monday, 27 October to Thursday, 30 October, this dynamic event will welcome students aged 14 and above from across the FOBISIA network.
Participants will collaborate with ThickSkin Theatre—a renowned UK-based professional company—to explore the central prompt: "In a world of everything, what makes us real?" In response to a digital recording of Peak Stuff, ThickSkin’s award-winning production, students will deconstruct its theatrical style, examining the company’s use of physical theatre, live and recorded voice, soundscapes, projections, and real-time video feed.
Guided by these elements, students will then devise original performance pieces to be presented in a final showcase on the concluding day.
Invites to attend the festival have already been sent to IGCSE Drama, IBDP Literature & Performance and IBDP Theatre students. Please register quickly before spaces fill up. As hosts, the cost of attending this festival is significantly less than normal.
