KS2 Production
Alex, Riley, and Jamie have invited their friends Kim and Morgan to stay over at their old family home. Banned from using their devices, they decide to explore the house and enter a ‘forbidden’ room. What - or who - they find there, are in need of help! Will the children be able to help them?
‘The Storytellers: Mga Sinaunang Kuwento (Ancient Stories)’ is a new, original script based on a concept by Mrs. Everley and created in collaboration with Filipino artists and academics. The production will feature Philippine creation myths, with live music by the Indayog Gong Ensemble from the Philippine Women’s University, and a special guest appearance by one of our wonderful Support Staff members. Come to the Bayanihan Hall on Thursday-Friday, 14-15 March at 04.00pm. Tickets are complimentary to the BSM community and you can book your tickets by scanning the QR code. See you there!
Red Leap Theatre Workshop
It has been an exciting and fun week in Whole School Drama as students from Year 5 to Year 9, IGCSE Drama, and IBDP Theatre spent time working with the phenomenal Red Leap Theatre.
Based in Auckland, Aotearoa New Zealand, Red Leap Theatre is an award-winning theatre company that cross the forms of physical theatre, imagery, and storytelling. They believe in playful discovery, the power of the imagination, and building a strong ensemble of performers in the original devised work that they create.
The visiting facilitators, Ella Becroft, the Artistic Director of Red Leap Theatre and Logan Cole, a member of the acting company introduced students to ensemble-building techniques, the playful exploration and use of materials and objects, the use of miniatures as a key performance technique in Red Leap work and different drama activities to build on performance energy, focus and listening.
