Dear Families,
This week our Year 13 students exhibited their scientific understanding in the highly anticipated Group 4 Project held in the LRC. Lorine, Ethan, Celine, and Emilio have kindly shared their reflections on the process. The recently concluded Group 4 Project by Year 13 students showcased an inspiring amalgamation of collaboration and interdisciplinary exploration.
With a full day off timetable dedicated to their project(s), each group composed of 4 to 5 students specialising in at least one different scientific discipline, investigated the scientific intricacies behind a chosen Paralympic sport. This involved designing experiments, collecting and analysing data, and presenting their findings to reveal how aspects of physics, chemistry, biology, computer science, and environmental systems and societies interact. This project’s evaluative process also involved an exhibition to a number of invited guests, including students, teachers, and the wider BSM community.
All in all, this immersive experience not only allowed the students to deepen their understanding of their respective science but also developed their collaboration and critical thinking skills, reflecting the core principles of the IB program.
Have a fantastic weekend.
