Dear Families,
As you know, central to our purpose is to empower students to flourish as global citizens with the skills, understanding and values, to make a positive contribution to our world. A recent initiative, led by three of our student leaders—Eunice, Caitlin, and Zara—beautifully exemplifies this commitment.
BLUEPRINT (YOU)TH (BPY) is a student-led social enterprise which aims to equip the next generation with transferable soft skills that are applicable to various careers. Last Saturday, 07 September, they had the privilege of hosting a cohort of 80 public school teachers in BSM’s Senior School Assembly Hall. The session was aimed at bringing fresh perspectives on education to the teachers, promoting the use of soft skills that could be implemented in the classroom.
There were a total of four speakers at the event, each of whom gave presentations on diverse topics. Mr Chris Stanley provided insightful perspectives on resilience and promoting perseverance among students. Mr Richard Healy spoke on debunking myths about learning while engaging the participants with evidence-based strategies. Mr Gregory Anderson spoke about using AI and technology efficiently, providing a live demonstration using ChatGPT. Lastly, the final speaker was Ms LA Nuyda from InTouch, who provided insights on solution-focussed coaching and how to better approach students’ personal issues.
The event was a huge success, and was met with an overwhelming amount of positive responses from the teachers! BLUEPRINT (YOU)TH is looking forward to hosting more cohorts in the future and extending their impact further.
