A Page-Turning Success: The Youth Writers Fair

What do you get when you mix myth, poetry, romance, and passionate young storytellers? A Youth Writers Fair that was nothing short of legendary! This year’s fair, a student-led collaboration between BSM and ISM, wasn’t just about writing—it was about the thrill of creativity, the power of words, and the courage to tell your story.

Award-winning filmmaker and author Kat Olan wowed students with her tales of adventure, video game inspirations, and the creative spark that set her on a path to winning Cinemalaya at just twelve years old. Spoken word artist Pete Bearder brought the house down with his high-energy poetry, proving that the spoken word is just as powerful as the written one. Romance writer Justine Camacho-Tajonera explored the art of crafting love stories that resonate, proving that emotion and authenticity are at the heart of great storytelling.

Beyond the speakers, students took the lead—organising, hosting, and expanding BSM’s literary landscape. With Book Club Wednesdays growing and new literary circles forming, this event was just the beginning. Who’s ready for the next chapter?
