Head Student Appointment & Year 7 Trip to Chosen Children Village

Head Student Appointment & Year 7 Trip to Chosen Children Village

Dear Families,

We are delighted to announce the appointment of our new Head Students, who will proudly represent the student body at BSM. After a rigorous selection process - including formal applications, student hustings, voting, and final interviews - the selection panel had the challenging task of choosing from an impressive group of candidates.

After much thoughtful deliberation, we are excited to welcome Cathy and Ritasha as our Head Students for the coming term!

Our heartfelt congratulations to Cathy and Ritasha, who will officially assume their roles at the beginning of Term 2. We are confident that they will lead with kindness, integrity, and a commitment to fostering a vibrant, inclusive school community. We look forward to seeing all they will accomplish in this important role.

Have a wonderful weekend.

Year 7 Trip to Chosen Children Village

On Thursday, 31 October, the Year 7 students went on their Service & Sustainability (S&S) trip to the Chosen Children Village (CCV). They were thrilled to start the day as the audience for CCV’s dress rehearsal of The Lion King musical, which they have been working on for the past few months. The performance was incredible, featuring some of the students' favourite Lion King soundtracks.

After the show, CCV guided us on a tour of their wonderful campus, where students got a glimpse into the efforts needed to run the campus, learning about who lives there and the facilities available. Students then participated in various activities, such as gardening, farming, cleaning, playing and reading with the toddlers, and even doing laundry—new experiences for many!

We all enjoyed lunch together, prepared and cooked by the CCV students, before heading back. It was a memorable day that deepened our understanding of community and service. We are now excited to host CCV for our Guy Fawkes Night, where our students look forward to being fantastic hosts in return!

Thank you to all the staff involved and for making this trip possible.
