Flourish Festival at Senior School and Year 8 Humanities talk

Dear Families,

This week's Flourish Festival has been a tremendous success. The thoughtfully designed activities throughout the week have contributed to the following outcomes:

Strengthened relationships
A deeper sense of belonging
Increased positive emotions
Greater engagement and meaning
Expanded knowledge and understanding of resilience and accomplishment

All of this is closely aligned with the BSM Well-being Framework and PEEC modules. The festival’s impact was further enhanced by a series of inspiring guest speakers, interactive workshops, and Thursday’s fun and exciting Spirit Day.

Year 8 Humanities Guest Speaker: Dr Susann Roth, ADB

On Tuesday, 04 February, Year 8 students were privileged to be visited by Dr Susann Roth from the Asian Development Bank (ADB).

Dr Roth was very kind and knowledgeable and answered all our questions. It really helped us to better understand foreign aid, the different types of aid and the distinction between bilateral aid from national governments and multilateral aid from the private sector. It really opened my eyes to a whole different system/world and how much people like Dr Roth are trying to make a difference. I really enjoyed listening to her and hope she comes back to school again. - Ashvin (Year 8)
