Anis (Year 13), MUN Secretary General wrote about the MUN LOCALS event that BSM hosted recently.
Last week, BSM had the privilege of hosting the nation’s largest annual MUN Conference: MUN LOCALS. The conference, which alternates each year between BSM and ISM, marked a particularly special moment for us as it was the first fully in-person LOCALS hosted by BSM since 2018. After several years of virtual and hybrid formats, it was incredible to come together, face-to-face, for meaningful and engaging debates.
This year's theme, "Bridging Global Divides," centred around debate topics that sparked challenging discussions within our committees, tackling both recent and ongoing global issues. Welcoming over 350 students from more than 18 schools around the Philippines, the conference was a great opportunity for students to meet new people and step out of their comfort zones. Led by BSM students, the conference provided fantastic opportunities to build connections, engage in fruitful debates and grow as individuals, all while upholding our core values of respect, integrity and kindness.
The BSM MUN team cannot wait to engage in many more conferences and host the LOCALS conference again in the future.

We are excited to unveil this year’s TEDxBritishSchoolManila team! Our theme for 2025 is “UncharTED” which explores the unknown, pushing the boundaries of personal growth and societal experiences. It’s about embracing uncertainty, individuality, and the courage to innovate, opening up possibilities, creating alternate spaces, and broadening horizons.
