TEDxBritishSchoolManila highlights and more new staff

Dear Families,

TEDxBritishSchoolManila

On Sunday, 30 March, our Year 10-12 students proudly hosted the 9th TEDxBritishSchoolManila conference—an event that once again showcased the talent, dedication, and professionalism of our BSM community. From warmly welcoming guests to executing a flawlessly run conference, our students delivered an experience of the highest standard, making us incredibly proud.

This year’s event featured an inspiring lineup of speakers: Gov Daswani captivated the audience with his thought-provoking talk on why we resist innovation, while current BSM students Maria, Mireya, and Chinee shared their impactful work with Roots for Change, demonstrating the power of student-led initiatives.

We were also privileged to welcome BSM alumnus Dr Jacob Batuhan, who explored the role of AI in medicine, and current BSM teacher Chris Stanley, who highlighted the power of real-world transfer in mathematics education. Their insights added depth to an already compelling program of ideas worth spreading.

Musical performances were another highlight of the day. BSM alumna Stephanie Aquino and her band, Sylas, delivered an electrifying performance, while the Philippines Suzuki Youth Orchestra and our very own student band, Four Squared, brought energy and passion to the stage.

Adding to the day’s inspiration, BSM parent Corinna Vistan shared her wisdom on the essential ingredients for success—grit, resilience, drive, and purpose. The event concluded on a high note with a stunning live collaboration, as vocal sensation Radha and her brother engaged the audience in the creation of an original song right before our eyes.

A huge thank you to everyone in the BSM community who contributed to making this event such an outstanding success. TEDxBritishSchoolManila 2025 was a true celebration of ideas, creativity, and the spirit of innovation—one that will undoubtedly leave a lasting impact on all who attended.
