A week of sports & superheroes that strengthen the community spirit

A week of sports & superheroes that strengthen the community spirit

Dear Parents,

A week full of sports and superheroes! The PE, Health, & Well-Being team, under the steadfast leadership of Head of Primary PE, Mr Perry have done an outstanding job this week with the many Primary Sports Days. The level of organisation and thought to student experience was outstanding and does not happen by accident. There are many standout moments for me, seeing students and parents enjoy these events:

Firstly, the approach to KS2 students is to compete with themselves and for their house. That moment when a student jumps for joy and tells you they have set a new personal best (PB) really is special. We don’t all have to be the best, but we can be our best selves.

Secondly, the level of encouragement and support from all staff: PE teachers, PE coaches, class teachers, and academic support staff. There was a level of care, kindness, and interest that was seen in how each and every member of their team was championing students and helping them to regulate, enjoy, and excel.

Finally, the level of parental support at all events and the community family spirit there was in parents enjoying watching their children, but also loving the time to chat with other parents. Thank you for your support.

We cannot underestimate the power of relationships within and between children, families, and staff, and this week’s events were a true place to connect with each other. Thank you to Mr Perry and indeed the whole PE, Health, & Well-Being team for making this happen.

Also, on behalf of Ms Tan, please find here the feedback for the Primary World Languages Parent Survey.

Have a wonderful holiday, and I will see you all back in school on Monday, 23 February.

Warm regards,

Mrs Katie Tomlinson
