The spirit of Christmas in our beloved BSM Community

The spirit of Christmas in our beloved BSM Community

Dear BSM Family,

Opposite my desk as I write this is a beautifully decorated Christmas tree, its sparkling lights and ornaments reminding me of the joy, warmth, and togetherness that define this season. Looking at it fills me with gratitude for the spirit of Christmas that is so alive and vibrant in our BSM community, where positivity, cheer, and love are truly at the heart of everything we do for our students.

One of the things that makes Christmas so special in the Philippines is the warmth and love that the Filipino people have for the holiday. As we all know so well, Christmas here isn’t just a season that begins in December; it starts in September. And why not? The Filipino passion for Christmas is contagious and it reminds us all of the deeper significance of the holiday season, family and community.

At BSM, we have embraced this extended holiday spirit and the positivity and cheer at school are truly remarkable. From the beautifully decorated hallways to the contagious excitement of our students, and the positivity of our families, there is no shortage of joy in our school. Thursday’s Key Stage 1 performance and the PTA Christmas Shop this past week, were wonderful opportunities to share in the fun and holiday spirit, and the support we saw from our community was nothing short of heartwarming.

A highlight of the season is always the Staff Pantomime, where our talented team of teachers and staff bring laughter and joy to the Whole School. The willingness of our staff to step outside their comfort zones to share their love for our students and embrace a truly BSM annual tradition reminded us all of the importance of bringing fun and lightheartedness into our lives, especially at this time of year.

Another unforgettable annual event is our all-staff Christmas party, taking place tomorrow, 30 November. This year, we will gather with 647 members of our school community and their families, including teachers, administrative staff, support personnel, security, maintenance, and all other teams. The event promises to be a joyous celebration of everything that makes BSM such a vibrant place to work, reflecting the collaboration, unity, and spirit of camaraderie that define our school.

As we celebrate the season together, I am deeply proud of how our school community exemplifies the spirit of Christmas, regardless of personal faith, whether it’s through acts of kindness, the joy of giving, or the shared laughter that echoes through our halls.

Here’s looking forward to our final week of term next week.

Enjoy a family-filled, joyous weekend.

Notice of Withdrawal

Dear Parents,

With Christmas Break and the start of another exciting year on the horizon, we are also aware some families may be starting to make plans to move on. If you intend to leave before Term 3, we ask you to complete the Notice of Withdrawal Form on or before Friday, 06 December 2024.

As places at BSM are in high demand, this allows us to plan for changes in classes and ensures you are not charged. As a reminder, if we do not receive a notice of withdrawal, the school will charge full fees for Term 3.

Thank you.
