Another busy BSM term ends—celebrating growth, community, and achievements together!

Dear BSM Family,

Another busy BSM term has come to an end, and we can celebrate achievement, growth, joyful moments, and the many ways in which our students and community continue to flourish together. My congratulations and compliments to everyone who has thrived and flourished this term and created so many memorable moments. Each of these moments, in different ways, tells our story, our collective stories.

When we reflect on a term like this, we naturally think of the many successes along the way. We think of the performances, the competitions, the creativity, the learning, the service, and the countless moments of progress that deserve recognition. But just as importantly, when we celebrate those highlights, we also celebrate something deeper and more enduring: who we are and, dare I sound like a broken record…our BSM Community.

Community is what we feel when we stand together in moments of success, and it is equally what carries us through moments of challenge. It is seen in the way we encourage one another, support one another, and remind each other that no one stands alone here. That sense of belonging is one of the greatest strengths of this school, and one of the greatest gifts we can offer our students.

More than ever, in these ongoing and often challenging global times, we must hold firmly to our sense of belonging here at BSM. Around the world, there are too many examples of division, conflict, and unkindness; too many examples of values being forgotten.

That is why what we build here matters so much. At BSM, our values are not decorative words on a wall. They are the principles we are called to live every day.

Kindness in the way we speak to and about one another.

Integrity in the way we act, even when no one is watching.

Respect in the way we honour each other, our differences, our shared spaces, and our shared purpose.

These values matter because they shape culture. Our culture. They shape belonging. They shape who we are and who our students become.

Thank you to our staff for your care, dedication and professionalism.

Thank you to our parents, governors, PTA and wider community for your partnership and support. Together, we make this school what it is.

To our students. Thank you for your energy, effort, and spirit. Thank you for all you bring to BSM.

So as this term closes, let us take pride in what has been achieved and be grateful for one another and the strength we find in standing together.

A reminder of ANZAC DAY 2026. All Australian and New Zealand Families are invited to attend the ANZAC Day 2026 Commemoration on Saturday, 25 April at 05.00am at the Libingan ng mga Bayani. Please look out for an email to Australian and New Zealand Families which will go out after the Easter Break.

Wishing you a peaceful and family-filled break.

Parent Workshops

‘Nutrition Parent Workshop with Harvie De Baron (repeat from Term 1)’, Wednesday, 15 April 2026, 08.00-09.00am, LRC Level 2, Screen Space

Following the success of our last parent session in Term 1, BSM will host a repeat of the Nutrition Parent Workshop led by Harvey De Baron of the Baron Method.

Discover how the food choices we make every day directly influence your children’s health, well-being, and academic performance. This presentation from Harvie De Baron of the Baron Method will reveal eye-opening research on how added sugars, artificial colours, and processed foods affect focus, memory, and mood, while also highlighting the powerful role of whole, nutrient-rich foods in boosting immunity, energy, and learning. Parents will take away practical strategies—such as simple swaps for pantry staples, breakfast habits that sharpen thinking, and family-friendly tips for introducing healthier alternatives—that can transform mealtimes into opportunities for long-term wellness. This engaging session promises to equip you with the knowledge and tools to nurture stronger bodies, sharper minds, and happier children through the healing power of food.

Please register here on or before Tuesday, 14 April if you would like to attend this Nutrition Workshop.

‘Primary School Parent Workshop: Tantrums, Meltdowns, Impulsivity and Irritability: Wherefore and What Now A Psychophysiological Approach to Self-regulation’, Wednesday, 22 April 2026, 08.00-09.00am, Lynne Studio, Creative Arts Centre Building

Not all behaviour is intentional, but when your child/ren goes from 0-100 in seconds, you’re not far behind. Join us as we bridge psychophysiology and the living room floor, as we share with you a bottom-up approach and key essentials of self-regulation. You’ll go home with actionable strategies to help make calm your normal. Explore the sensory systems and how they influence your child/ren’s behaviour and emotions, along with simple, practical strategies you can use at home to build body awareness and self-regulation. Learn about the relationship between sleep and behaviour, and what signs to look for that sleep might be a contributing factor. We hope you could join us.

Register here.
