Welcome to Term 3!
Dear BSM Family,
As we return from the Easter break and step into our final term of this academic year, there’s a tangible sense of anticipation and excitement in the air. Term 3 at The British School Manila is always one of the most vibrant and memorable times in our calendar, a season of celebration, reflection, and transition. And of course, hard graft from our Senior School students as they sit IGCSE and IBDP finals.
For our students, staff, and families, the coming weeks promise to be full of energy, achievements, and heartfelt moments. It is a term where learning continues in earnest, yet it is also marked by the many traditional key events and milestones that bring us together as a community. From final assessments and student exhibitions to concerts, sports fixtures, and community gatherings, there will be no shortage of opportunities to connect, celebrate, and look back on all that has been accomplished. Our big community gathering, of course, is the annual PTA Fete, this year it's the Great British Splash, and will be held on Friday, 23 May from 04.30pm to 09.00pm.
One of the most poignant aspects of Term 3 is the series of celebratory and farewell events for our graduating Year 13 students and other members of our community who will be moving on. This time of year always brings with it a mix of emotions, immense pride in all that has been accomplished, joy in the celebrations ahead, and a touch of sadness as we prepare to say goodbye to students and colleagues.
However, we still have some weeks to go, and as we move through this final term, I encourage all members of our BSM family to fully engage in the life of our wonderful school and school community. Come along to events, cheer from the sidelines, share in the accomplishments, and enjoy the vibrant spirit that defines this special time of year.
Here’s to a busy and bustling Term 3, a time of gratitude, celebration, and looking forward.
