Looking forward to positive collaborations, stellar IB 2025 results, and more

Dear BSM Family,

Eight days in and at the start of every school year, I humbly realise how privileged I am to be in my role as school leader and to be part of the incredible BSM community and broader community of international school leaders. I feel so lucky to share space with like-minded people, here at BSM and around the globe, passionate about giving our students the best opportunities to flourish. This is mirrored along our classrooms, hallways, and offices and being back at school is truly energising.

Support across our community is always ever so much appreciated, and we look forward to positive collaborations. Please see the message on the PTA page from our PTA President Ms Kristel Curran here.

I am delighted to report that our stellar IBDP results place us in the top 50 schools globally with a 37-point average! Not only is the average fantastic along with the many 40+s, but the broad range also reflects splendid individual successes and something for our community to be graciously proud of.

Our recent iGCSE results are also equally praiseworthy. A full report will follow once the final official results are published.

At the British School Manila, our purpose remains steadfast: to nurture global citizens who flourish and contribute meaningfully to the world. There will, of course, always be challenges. But every time, we rise above them seeking solutions to find joy in the children thriving around us.

With that being said, a key element is our approach to Promoting Positive Behaviour, and I urge you to read Mrs Roisin Pearson’s article. This will be the first in our spotlight series.

Enjoy a family-filled weekend.

Parent Workshops

'Meet the School Counsellors & Transition Parent Workshop', Wednesday, 03 September, 08.00am-09.00am, Senior FoodiE Bistro

Parents are warmly invited to join the School Counsellors to learn about our roles within the school, how we support students, and our partnership with parents. We will also focus on how to navigate important transitions with your child/ren. Our goal is to empower both parents and children to adapt confidently through life’s changes. As parents, we play a vital role in supporting resilience and a sense of belonging. The workshop will include practical tips and suggestions:

  • How School Counsellors create a supportive environment so students can flourish
  • Starting a new school and arriving in a new country
  • Adjusting to a new Year Group, teacher, and making new friends
  • Helping returning students thrive and cope with changes when friends leave
