Well done to the performers of HONK! Jr & FOBISIA Golf Championship golfers, ANZAC Day reminders, and thank you for your support on device provision

Dear BSM Family,

Each year, I am amazed by the incredible talent on stage during our school productions. This year’s Year 5 & Year 6 Drama Production performance of Honk! Jr was truly special. Sitting in the audience, both Mrs van der Linde and I were moved by the depth and passion our students brought to this story. Its message of kindness, inclusivity, and community resonated deeply, proving that even a simple story can have a profound impact when told with such heart. We owe a debt of gratitude to Mrs Everley and her dedicated team for nurturing our children's potential. Bravo to the cast and crew!

I managed to travel this week to Clark for the BSM-hosted FOBISIA Golf Championships and glimpse some of the action on the final day. Well done to all our golfers for their fantastic performances; your school spirit was on full display! Finally, a huge shout-out to Mr Perry for his tireless work to make this tournament such a success.

A reminder of ANZAC DAY 2026. All Australian and New Zealand Families are invited to attend the ANZAC Day 2026 Commemoration on Saturday, 25 April at 05.00am at the Libingan ng mga Bayani. Please look out for an email to Australian and New Zealand Families which will go out after the Easter Break.

Finally, thank you to the Parent Representatives who attended this morning’s focus group discussion on device provision. Your engagement on behalf of your year group constituents is vital as we transition from a Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) model to a structured, School Managed Device (SMD) system next year for incoming Year 3 and Year 7 students.

The BSM Vision is Learning-First Technology: Learning to use technology and using technology to learn, with the school’s aim to create a simpler, safer digital experience.

Please look out for further information about the transition and opportunities for parents' meetings for us to share the device transitioning process.

In the meantime, enjoy a family-filled weekend!

Bandana Day

Bandana Day is an annual event that honours a promise to a former BSM student—to continue promoting cancer awareness and raising funds to support children diagnosed with cancer and their families.

You can show your support by purchasing a bandana inspired by the artwork made by our recent Big Draw Artist in Residence, Lil Manahan, featuring local flora and fauna for each house, designed by the Visual Art department. Each bandana costs Php 250.00, and all proceeds will be donated to the amazing charity, Cancer Warrior Foundation, to help fund programs and support for young cancer patients.

Parent Workshops

‘Nutrition Parent Workshop with Harvie De Baron (repeat from Term 1)’, Wednesday, 15 April 2026, 08.00-09.00am, LRC Level 2, Screen Space

Following the success of our last parent session in Term 1, BSM will host a repeat of the Nutrition Parent Workshop led by Harvey De Baron of the Baron Method.

Discover how the food choices we make every day directly influence your children’s health, well-being, and academic performance. This presentation from Harvie De Baron of the Baron Method will reveal eye-opening research on how added sugars, artificial colours, and processed foods affect focus, memory, and mood, while also highlighting the powerful role of whole, nutrient-rich foods in boosting immunity, energy, and learning. Parents will take away practical strategies—such as simple swaps for pantry staples, breakfast habits that sharpen thinking, and family-friendly tips for introducing healthier alternatives—that can transform mealtimes into opportunities for long-term wellness. This engaging session promises to equip you with the knowledge and tools to nurture stronger bodies, sharper minds, and happier children through the healing power of food.

Please register here on or before Tuesday, 14 April if you would like to attend this Nutrition Workshop.
