Excitement fills the school as we start Term 3, third Alumni Connect highlights, and get your tickets to the Great British Splash!

Dear BSM Family,

As we return from the Easter break and begin the final term of this academic year, there is a real sense of anticipation and excitement across the school. Term 3 is always one of the most vibrant and memorable times in our calendar, a time for celebration, reflection and transition. It is also, of course, a period of sustained hard work for our Senior School students as they prepare for and sit their IGCSE and IBDP final examinations. Best of luck!

On Thursday evening, we held our third Annual Alumni Connect event in Manila, and connecting and reconnecting with former BSM students is very special indeed. A huge thank you to Ms Nono Coliangco and Ms Grace Vera Cruz for their incredible and generous support for this event. Looking ahead, we have 30 students signed up for our London Alumni Connect in May.

At school, for students, staff, and families, the weeks ahead will be filled with energy, achievement and many special moments. Learning continues with purpose and focus, while the term is also shaped by the many events and milestones that bring us together as a community. From final assessments and student exhibitions to concerts, sports fixtures and community gatherings, there will be many opportunities to connect, celebrate and reflect on all that has been accomplished. One of our biggest community events is, of course, the annual BSM PTA event, The Great British Splash. This will take place on Friday, 15 May, from 04.30pm to 09.00pm. Look out for further details to secure your ticket.

Here’s to a busy and rewarding Term 3, marked by gratitude, achievement, and community spirit.

Parent Workshops

‘Primary School Parent Workshop: Tantrums, Meltdowns, Impulsivity and Irritability: Wherefore and What Now A Psychophysiological Approach to Self-regulation’, Wednesday, 22 April 2026, 08.00-09.00am, Lynne Studio, Creative Arts Centre Building

Not all behaviour is intentional, but when your child/ren goes from 0-100 in seconds, you’re not far behind. Join us as we bridge psychophysiology and the living room floor, as we share with you a bottom-up approach and key essentials of self-regulation. You’ll go home with actionable strategies to help make calm your normal. Explore the sensory systems and how they influence your child/ren’s behaviour and emotions, along with simple, practical strategies you can use at home to build body awareness and self-regulation. Learn about the relationship between sleep and behaviour, and what signs to look for that sleep might be a contributing factor. We hope you could join us.

‘College Spotlight Parent Workshop #2: Myths, Realities, and What Actually Matters’, Wednesday, 22 April 2026, 08.00-09.00am, LRC Level 2, Screen Space

There is often a lot of conflicting information in the community about college applications. Does an external counsellor provide a real edge? How much do alumni connections matter? Is there a "magic formula" for the Ivy League, or a specific requirement like Higher Level Maths to prove academic rigour? We will unpack these common perceptions (and some myths!) to give you a more nuanced and accurate view of the global university landscape.

‘Nutrition Parent Workshop for Family Helpers, Yayas, Cooks and Drivers (repeat from January)’, Wednesday, 29 April 2026, 08.00-09.00am, Senior FoodiE Bistro

Following the success of our recent session in January for family helpers, yayas, cooks and drivers last January, BSM will host a repeat of the Nutrition Workshop led by Harvey De Baron of the Baron Method.

This session is designed especially for family helpers, yayas, cooks and drivers,  and will cover the same practical nutrition guidance in a hands-on, accessible way. Participants will learn simple tips to support healthy eating at home—from checking ingredient labels and preparing balanced meals, to making small adjustments that suit each child’s individual needs.

The workshop aims to empower those who help prepare family meals with the knowledge and confidence to make healthy choices that benefit the whole household.

Please register here on or before Tuesday, 28 April, if you would like your Family Helpers, Yayas, Cooks and Drivers to attend this Nutrition Workshop.
