Message from the BSM Board of Governors

Announcing three openings on the Board of Governors for the next SY 2025-2026:

All parents in good standing are eligible to join the BSM Board. Governors all have equal status for the strategic and oversight role of BSM, plus advising the school leadership. Each Governor helps by overseeing a specific area of the School on behalf of the collective responsibility of the Board.

The roles under consideration and skills/experience we are looking for are:

Communications & Marketing Governor – Public relations, marketing, communications and media (print and digital), local media landscape familiarity. In this role, the Governor will liaise with the BSM Marketing team and provide oversight for the internal and external communications strategy of the school.
Health, Safety, Environment & Security Governor – Risk assessment and mitigation protocols, technical security systems, safety and security management, incident management, familiarity with local agencies and regional security contacts. The Governor will help ensure international best practices are applied in the school.
Information & Computer Technology Governor – Broad understanding of current and emerging digital and information technology and its applications, with the ability to engage with non-technical stakeholders. The Governor will assist BSM to identify and integrate relevant technologies across all operations and to support educational pedagogy.

These roles have a term of five years, starting at the end of this term. Prior governance experience is also a plus.

'Supporting Identity and Belonging in a Global Community', Wednesday, 28 May, 08.00am-09.00am, LRC, Level 2 Screen Space

Every one of our students benefits from growing up in an international community and learning to navigate an increasingly globalised world. Many will study, work, and live in cultures different from their own. To truly thrive, they need a strong sense of identity—an understanding of who they are that helps them better connect with and respect others.

In this interactive workshop, we’ll explore key questions such as: How can we support our child/ren as their sense of self evolves? What strategies can we use to help them embrace and celebrate both their own identity and the diverse identities of those around them?

Whether your child/ren are just beginning to express their unique preferences, navigating the complexities of adolescence, or preparing for life beyond BSM, we invite you to join us for this important and practical conversation.
