Dear BSM Family,
Our Guy Fawkes Night celebration held last Friday was a thoroughly enjoyable community event. Thank you to our PTA and to everyone who made this event a remarkable success. The collaborative efforts from so many people coming together is the most impressive and highlights the community spirit that BSM holds dear.
Whilst there will be another opportunity for feedback later in the year, the PTA, along with our BSM team, will be having a debrief meeting shortly so if you have any comments, positive or constructive, then please feel free to let us know using this form.
I’m delighted to advise that we will have our short-listed candidates for the new Head of Senior School visiting our campus towards the end of next week. They’ll be meeting Senior School teachers and the school’s Business and Leadership Teams as part of the selection process but with the calibre of candidates we have to choose from, we’re already confident that whoever we select will be a fantastic addition to the school.
Finally, our thoughts go out to those affected by the recent typhoon, Ofel, which has again brought strong winds and heavy rainfall to the north of the country. With Typhoon Pepito expected to pass over the country on Sunday, we may see more adverse weather closer to home - whilst it should have passed before school on Monday, please take care over what could be a very wet and windy weekend.
Warm regards,
Martin van der Linde
Head of School
Alliance Global Tower Fire Drill
Please be advised that the Alliance Global Tower (across BSM) will conduct a Fire Drill for their building occupants on Wednesday, 20 November 2024, from 09.00am to 12.00pm.
In line with this, two lanes along 36th Street which is their designated evacuation area will be partially closed. During this time, heavy traffic is expected in the area.
'Reading at Home: Parents & Carers Workshop', Wednesday, 27 November, 08.00am-09.00am, Senior FoodiE Bistro
You will learn about how to encourage children to read at home, common mistakes parents and helpers often make, and practical tips to help children love reading. This workshop is best suited to Reception and Year 1 carers although could be relevant to some Year 2 carers too, if reading at home is a challenge.
'Next Meeting of the Student Support Services Parent Network', Thursday, 28 November 2024, 01.30PM-02.30PM, Level 1, Room UL5, El Nido Building
Dear Parents,
With Christmas Break and the start of another exciting year on the horizon, we are also aware some families may be starting to make plans to move on. If you intend to leave before Term 3, we ask you to complete the Notice of Withdrawal Form on or before Friday, 06 December 2024.
As places at BSM are in high demand, this allows us to plan for changes in classes and ensures you are not charged. As a reminder, if we do not receive a notice of withdrawal, the school will charge full fees for Term 3.
Thank you.
