Dear BSM Family,
Announcement
You may have heard that our Head of Senior School, Mr Richard Healy and his family will be taking leave of BSM at the end of this academic year after 8 wonderful years of service to our BSM community. This turnover of staff is a sad reality of international schools and there will certainly be opportunities for goodbyes later. In the meantime, a robust recruitment process is already underway to seek a suitable replacement for August 2025.
The wet wet week that has passed
I am sure you have all been tracking the current weather and news coverage about school closures in certain areas. We are very aware of people who live in areas of high risk and our thoughts are with those adversely affected by the rainfall and its negative effects.
In considering closing or remaining open, we look at a number of risk factors and consult our Health and Safety Governor. We are most grateful that due to our campus location, excellent facilities and where the majority of our community resides, we can usually remain open and our students experience less interruptions to learning.
That said, we do understand that conditions vary considerably so, as we always reiterate, if you ever feel that it is unsafe for your children to travel due to any adverse conditions in your local area, then please inform our Primary or Senior Schools that your child/ren will be absent for that reason.
The same principle applies to the safety of all of our staff. They exercise their own discretion in considering safety factors when travelling to school and are always granted leave of absence in deference to their individual family circumstances.
