Thank you for another brilliant Term, BSM!

Thank you for another brilliant Term, BSM!

Dear BSM Family,

Another brilliant BSM term has come to an end. It has been an incredible journey we have shared over the past months, a Term certainly with more highs than lows and ultimately filled with achievement, growth, and, as always, an enduring sense of community.

We often speak of community, but here, at this school, at BSM, it is more than just a word; it is a lived experience. True strength comes from standing together through all moments. In times of success, we have shared and celebrated our achievements, and in moments of challenge, we have encouraged and supported one another.

I want to express my sincere appreciation to the entire BSM community for coming together during a time of challenge this term. Your quiet, sometimes not so quiet, yet steadfast support has been truly valued and deeply appreciated. Each one of you contributes to the dynamic and wonderful community environment that is BSM.

Let me go back to the beginning of the term and highlight just a few of this term’s successes.

On our first Friday back, we held our annual Founders’ Day Assembly, where we honoured our rich BSM legacy and welcomed a new era of student leadership. The valediction of our outgoing leaders and the introduction of new student representatives reinforced the strength and continuity of our student voice. It was a powerful reminder that our school’s spirit is carried forward by each new generation of leaders.

Just a few weeks ago, this was echoed at our BSM Alumni Connect function, where former students gathered with corporate representatives to share their experiences and insights. The stories of success of our alums are a great source of inspiration and reaffirm the lasting impact of a BSM education. Also in attendance were representatives of our British School Manila Taguig Scholarship Programme (BSMTSP) Scholars who also enjoyed an earlier gathering at an event that celebrated the hard work, dedication, and ambition of our scholars. Their stories remind us of the transformative power of education and our responsibility to nurture talent and potential wherever we find it.

Our BSM PTA are always hardworking, and this term’s PTA Jumble Sale and PTA Valentine’s Flower Shop once again showcased the generosity and enthusiasm of our community. Through these initiatives, we demonstrated how small acts of kindness and collective effort can make a significant impact. To our PTA and all the students and families who contributed—thank you for making BSM not just a school, but a community that cares. Next term is our annual Summer Fête, and the theme is… The Great British Splash.

This term also saw the spectacular Primary School Production – The X-Factory, where our Key Stage 2 performers took to the stage with energy, confidence, and enthusiasm. Their passion and talent truly shone through, and it was wonderful to see the joy and excitement that performance brings to our community.

On the stage, our musicians continue to amaze with their incredible talents, from the FOBISIA Battle of the Bands to Key Stage 1 concert and the International Evening performances. The seemingly limitless talent of our students is awesome. It is always truly inspiring to see our campus alive with creativity and expression. Bravo!

Bravo, too, to our Senior School Drama students for the reading of 'Forty-Five Minutes.' It was truly engaging and thought-provoking and it certainly had me gripped from the opening lines.

Our IB Visual Art Exhibition this week was another window to the arts through the incredible journey of growth and development for our IB Visual Art students.

Not to be outdone, in the sports arena, we had an action-packed term where our BSM athletes displayed exceptional skill, resilience, and sportsmanship, embodying the true essence of competition and camaraderie. Our participation at FOBISIA and ISAC events was hugely successful, and throughout the term, our BSM-hosted sports competitions have brought teams from far and wide to our fields, courts and swimming pool.

Congratulations to all our athletes for your dedication and determination. Well done!

An annual highlight for me and many of you too is our International Evening. The celebration of cultures, traditions, and cuisines was a reminder of the incredible diversity that makes BSM such a special place with a truly global spirit of our school.

Our TEDxBritishSchoolManila event provided a platform for powerful ideas and thought-provoking discussions. Seeing our students and guests take the stage to share their passions and perspectives was a reminder that learning goes beyond the classroom—it is about exploring, questioning, and shaping the world around us.

As we close this term, I want to extend my heartfelt gratitude to our students, staff, parents, and wider BSM community. Each one of you contributes to the vibrant, dynamic, and supportive environment that makes our school so exceptional. Your hard work, enthusiasm, and commitment to excellence do not go unnoticed.

Now, as we take a well-deserved break, I encourage each of you to reflect on your achievements, recharge, and return with renewed energy for the next term.

Thank you, and I wish you all a restful and joyful break. See you next term!

Notice of Withdrawal

Dear Parents,

Whilst it is always sad to see families leave, we are aware that some may be moving on at the end of the school year. If you do not intend to enrol in August 2025, we ask you to complete the Notice of Withdrawal Form on or before Friday, 04 April 2025.

The Notice of Withdrawal allows us to plan for admissions, enrolments, and classes for the next school year, and of course ensures you are not billed for the upcoming school year. Please note that should we not receive a notice of withdrawal, we assume your re-enrollment and will charge full fees for Term 1, School Year 2025-2026.

Thank you.
