BSM's dedication in leading and keeping informed about developments in international education
Dear BSM Family,
We take great pride in our BSM team members who represent the school at key regional and international conferences, demonstrating our leadership, sharing best practices, and ensuring BSM remains at the forefront of innovation in international education.
At the FOBISIA Business Conference, held earlier this month:
- Scott Justice, our Senior Manager for Marketing, Events and Admissions, co-presented with Finalsite on the latest trends in school marketing, website design, and how we’ve been improving our digital communications at BSM in - Case Study: The British School Manila (BSM) – A Brand Evolution.
- Maita Borromeo, our Chief Operating Officer, moderated a well-received roundtable discussion on Crisis Management and Business Continuity, engaging school leaders from across Asia.
- Bon Valdez, our HR Manager, also attended, ensuring BSM remains connected to regional conversations on strategic people management and organisational development.

Meanwhile, at the OFFSEAS Outdoor Education Conference:
- Rich Hunt delivered a powerful session titled ‘Regeneration – A Permaculture Journey!’, sharing how sustainability and environmental learning are embedded into our school culture.
- He was joined by Mark Attwood, Deputy Head of Senior School and Educational Visits Coordinator (EVC), who also engaged with the latest thinking in outdoor and experiential education. Mark’s participation reflects BSM’s continued commitment to designing meaningful learning experiences beyond the classroom—and to diligently sourcing appropriate, high-quality providers for all school residential trips to ensure student safety, well-being, and educational value.
Next week, I will proudly represent BSM at the COBIS (Council of British International Schools) Annual Conference in London and also host a BSM Alumni Connect event for our BSM alumni in London and beyond.
These events highlight BSM’s ongoing dedication not only to staying informed about developments in international education but also to leading learning and sharing innovations with peer schools.
A few important reminders:
- Don’t miss our PTA-led Great British Splash on Friday, 23 May at 04.30pm – a fantastic community celebration not to be missed!
- And finally, we wish all of our IGCSE and IBDP students the very best as they continue with their final examinations. Hang in there - you’ve got this!
Wishing you a family-filled weekend,
Head of School
