Safeguarding

The British School Manila is committed to the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child.

We believe that the safety and well-being of students is paramount. The school maintains an environment that minimises the risk of harm to students and one that promotes their right to be heard if and when they feel unsafe.

BSM also promotes the well-being of other members of the school community, including staff, parents and volunteers and expects their active participation in creating and maintaining a safe and inclusive environment.

The school Safeguarding and Child Protection Policy can be accessed through the Family Portal. Safeguarding developments are driven by a whole-school Safeguarding Committee.

The British School Manila is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. As part of our safer recruitment process and in line with best practice internationally, all appointments will undergo rigorous screening. This will include identity verification, comprehensive reference checks and criminal record checks from all countries of residence covering the candidate’s entire employment history.

If you have any Safeguarding questions or concerns, please speak with any member of staff or the Safeguarding Officers listed below.
