Our Parent Teacher Association (PTA) is central to our vibrant sense of community. Their work is focused on providing a multitude of opportunities for our whole community to gather and grow our shared sense of belonging. If you ask a BSM family, teacher or student, what makes BSM special the consistent answer will be ‘our sense of community’ and the PTA make it their mission to make sure that this sense of community is maintained and further developed. Their major events such as Bonfire Night and the Summer Fete attract over 1,500 attendees and are recognised by all as highlights of the BSM calendar. Through these and other events the PTA raise funds that are used to enrich the experience of our students and families by supporting a multitude of activities including visiting authors, music, art and drama events and sports tournaments.
The PTA members are elected by the parent body and are always looking for individuals and families willing to support our activities and events. The PTA makes everyone feel welcome and they also facilitate our parent class representatives who are key to ensuring family school communication and relationships are focused on positive interactions. These Parent Reps in turn support our teachers to enhance the education our children experience and facilitate coffee mornings and social events for each year group.
