History

The British School Manila was established in 1976 in the old Union Church with only 36 students. Over the course of almost fifty years, the school has grown, developed and evolved into what it is today.

Mr. Brendan Egan M.B.E. served on the Board of Governors from 1976 to 2017.


 

New Home

The British School Manila moves to Merville, Paranaque. 
Student population grows to 107 Students.

 

First FOBISSEA

The British School Manila hosts the first FOBISSEA (Federation of British International Schools in South East Asia) Sports and Cultural Event.

 

BSM Expands

The British School Manila expands to offer Key Stage 3 of Senior School.

Accredited by the Council of International School (CIS)

BSM becomes the first in the Philippines to be accredited by CIS. Student population over 768 students with over 46 nationalities. BSM celebrates its 30th anniversary at the Ambassador's residence.

The British School Manila Chairman awarded the M.B.E. in Queen’s New Year’s Honours List for his services to education in the Philippines.

Royal Highness Visit

Students, staff, and parents were thrilled to welcome Princess Anne who unveiled a plaque commemorating new sports facilities and spent time meeting charities supported by BSM.
 

40th year anniversary

A year where we started with a classic ‘British Street Party’ with over 2,500 attendees and continued the year with a variety of activities relating to both our rich history and our future goals.
 

The British School Manila Creative Arts Centre officially opened

Designed to offer the students a wider sense of the visual and performing arts. With its glass exterior together with a large airy atrium and non-standard angles it sits as a foundation for creativity.
