Glenn Hardy
Head of Primary School
Welcome to the Primary section of The British School Manila. We provide a happy and stimulating environment in which your child will be inspired to learn. In Primary, we aim to empower our students to drive their own learning and provide them with opportunities to develop key learning skills. We aim to foster in them a desire to be life-long learners. We want our students to be questioning and independent and to possess good communication skills. There are plenty of opportunities to work and develop collaborative and creative skills within the curriculum, and students are expected at all times to reflect on their learning.

Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) Nursery - Reception Ages 3 - 5
Key Stage 1 (KS1) Year 1 - 2 Ages 5 - 7
Key Stage 2 (KS2) Year 3 - 6 Ages 7 - 11

Our curriculum is based on the English National Curriculum, following the core subjects of English, Mathematics, Science and Information and Communication Technology (ICT). The children will also follow enquiry-based units on looking after the environment, internationalism, design technology, entrepreneurial understanding and a reflection on the past. In addition, they will take part in a community project as we aim to prepare our students for life as responsible global citizens of the 21st century, with the desire to contribute to their local communities. In addition, we place a strong emphasis on sport and the arts, with specialist teachers in these areas and a comprehensive extra-curricular programme that offers additional opportunities to develop creativity and collaboration.

We look forward to welcoming you to our school.
