Refectory

The school refectory is open during school days from 7:00 am to 4:00 pm.  We have two concessionaires and they offer a wide variety of local and international dishes.  There are always at least 4 hot entrees during lunch time in addition to having soup, pizza, sandwiches, breads and other baked products.

For refreshments, the refectory only offers water, fresh or bottled juices and sports drink.  They also offer fresh fruits, cookies and other types of bread to give the students ample selections.

Here at The British School Manila, we believe in healthy eating and teaching our students to do the same.  As such, we have refrained from offering any carbonated soda, chocolate bars and ice cream.

For allergy reasons, we have also instructed our concessionaires not to offer any dishes or products that contain nuts or any other derivatives.

Payment system:

Students from Reception to Year 2, the parents can pre order their children’s meal with the Refectory directly.  This will be served the students during their lunch break.

For students Year 2 and above, we have instituted a pre-paid system for our refectory where the parents can “load” credits into the system and the students will use their ID’s to avail of those credits.  If the parent wishes, a detailed report can be generated by the system for the parent to check what food has been ordered by their children.

Details of the pre-paid system:
1.    Parent/Student loads his ID (min of Php1,000) at level 0 loading station .
2.    Every time a student buys food, the ID will be swiped and corresponding amount will be deducted from his “load.”
3.    If the student’s load falls below Php100, the student will be advised by the refectory of the situation.
