The British School Manila Parents and Teachers Association (PTA)

Each parent and teacher automatically becomes a member of the PTA on joining the school. Whilst the level of involvement is very much a personal choice, the PTA is very successful in encouraging everyone to join in working together to enhance the experiences of students and foster relations within the school community.

Parents joining a new school, whether at the start of the year or part-way through it, can experience just as many first day nerves as their children. The PTA’s role very much includes supporting our new families and they are very happy to help new parents find their feet whilst settling in.

Within BSM, many parents are representatives or members of non-school organisations which also offer newcomers support in settling into life in Manila. A list of some of those organisations is available from the admissions office.

The PTA holds a number of functions throughout the year. Some are purely social while others, such as the annual Bonfire Night and the Fete, have both a social and a fund raising aspect. Funds raised by the PTA contribute much to the facilities of the school. Past donations have included musical instruments and improvements to library and playground facilities.
